Awesome Baked Ham Recipe
Ingredients
For the Ham

1 fully cooked bone-in ham (7–9 lbs)
-
Whole cloves (optional, for studding)
For the Glaze
-
1 cup brown sugar
-
½ cup honey
-
¼ cup Dijon mustard
-
¼ cup apple cider vinegar or orange juice
-
2 tbsp butter
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
½ tsp ground cloves (or allspice)
-
Optional: 2 tbsp bourbon or apple cider for deeper flavor
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ham
-
Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).

Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan or baking dish.

Score the fat in a diamond pattern (optional but helps glaze soak in).

Stud with whole cloves if using.
2. Make the Glaze
-
Combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, vinegar (or orange juice), butter, cinnamon, and ground cloves in a saucepan.

Heat over medium until smooth, melted, and slightly thickened (5 minutes).

Remove from heat.
3. Bake
-
Brush ham generously with the glaze.

Cover ham loosely with foil and bake 1 hour.

Remove foil, baste with more glaze, and bake another 30–60 minutes, basting every 15 minutes.

Bake until ham is heated through (internal temp about 140°F / 60°C) and glaze is caramelized.
4. Rest and Serve
Let ham rest 10–15 minutes before carving so the juices settle.
Tips for Extra Amazing Results

Add pineapple rings during the last 30 minutes for a classic sweet finish.

Broil for the last 3–4 minutes to deepen caramelization—watch closely!

Save pan drippings to drizzle over slices or add to gravy.
- 15 lbs whole bone-in ham (I prefer Cooks SuperTrim brand)
- 1 lb brown sugar
- 1/2 cup yellow mustard
- aluminum foil
1 In a medium size mixing bowl, mix yellow mustard and brown sugar until you have a thick"paste".
2 Take all wrappers off of ham and trim away excess fat.
3 Line baking pan (I spray with Pam in case some of the brown sugar mixture escapes, clean up is easier) with Aluminum foil.
4 Place ham on foil and spread brown sugar/mustard paste on top.
5 Fold and seal foil.
6 Do not open again until ham is done.
7 Bake at 350° for 4 hours.
8 Let set for about 1 hr then carve.
