Heat to 160°C / 325°F.
2. Warm the Ham
-
Place the ham cut side down in a roasting pan.
-
Pour 1 cup water or apple juice into the bottom.
-
Cover tightly with foil.
-
Bake 12–15 minutes per pound (usually 1½–2 hours) just to heat through.
3. Make the Glaze
In a saucepan, heat together:
-
Honey
-
Brown sugar
-
Butter
-
Dijon
-
Vinegar/juice
-
Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves
-
Black pepper
Simmer 3–5 minutes, stirring until glossy and slightly thickened.
4. Glaze the Ham
-
After the initial bake, remove foil.
-
Brush a heavy layer of glaze all over the ham, letting it drip between slices.
-
Bake 15 minutes, uncovered.
5. Caramelize
-
Brush with more glaze.
-
Bake another 10–15 minutes, until shiny and caramelized.
-
Optional: Broil 1–2 minutes for a deeper crust — watch closely!
6. Rest & Serve
-
Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
-
Spoon extra glaze from the pan over the slices.
